Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the African Union Internship Program, applicants must:

  • Be citizens of an African Union Member State.
  • Be actively enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree program; OR
  • Have obtained a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Be no older than 32 years at the time of selection.
  • Be fluent in at least one AU working language (English, French, Arabic, or Portuguese).
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical conduct.
  • Have no serious criminal convictions.

No prior work experience is required.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments
