About the Opportunity
The WHO Health Systems Data Manager 2026 opportunity is a high-impact international volunteer role based in Khartoum, Sudan. This position is designed for experienced professionals who are passionate about data, public health, and humanitarian response.
In this role, you will support the World Health Organization’s emergency health programmes by improving disease surveillance systems, strengthening data analysis, and contributing to timely decision-making processes. You will work at the frontline of global health challenges, helping to monitor and respond to disease outbreaks in complex environments.
You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop data-driven insights, and support the creation of reports and dashboards that guide interventions. This hands-on experience will enhance your technical expertise while allowing you to contribute directly to protecting vulnerable populations and improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and improvement of electronic disease surveillance systems
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate health data and epidemiological reports
- Produce situation reports, dashboards, and health intelligence updates
- Maintain databases and track health indicators across regions
- Collaborate with WHO teams, government bodies, and health partners
- Participate in field surveys, assessments, and outbreak investigations
- Contribute to training materials and capacity-building initiatives
