About Opportunity
The UN Women Consultant Job 2026 offers a powerful opportunity for experienced professionals to lead the development of policy guidelines focused on the care economy and gender-responsive systems. This role involves working closely with international stakeholders to design, draft, and refine high-level policy documents that influence decision-making at regional and global levels.
The selected consultant will guide the full policy development process, from inception reporting to final approved guidelines. The role includes research, stakeholder engagement, drafting technical documents, and facilitating validation processes to ensure the final outputs meet global standards.
Professionals in this role will collaborate with institutions, governments, and development partners to produce impactful policy frameworks that support gender equality and inclusive care systems. Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for delivering key outputs within defined timelines, including:

- Conducting data collection and mapping analysis on care systems
- Developing draft policy guidelines for review
- Updating policy drafts based on stakeholder feedback
- Facilitating validation workshops with partners and experts
- Producing a concise policy brief summarising key recommendations
- Submitting final approved policy guidelines
In addition, the consultant will engage stakeholders, conduct research, and ensure all outputs meet high-quality standards and align with programme goals.
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is suitable for professionals who:
- Hold a Master’s degree in economics, gender studies, public policy, development studies, international relations, or related fields
- Have at least 7 years of experience in policy development or analysis, particularly in the care economy or gender-responsive systems
- Demonstrate strong experience in producing policy briefs, guidelines, and strategic documents
- Have experience working with governments, international organizations, or civil society
- Possess strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience in sub-Saharan Africa or similar development contexts is an added advantage.
