We are seeking a Business Services Team Manager to lead operations that support travel, logistics, expense oversight, event planning, and administrative services across the organization.
Role Overview
This executive leadership role requires excellent planning, coordination, budgeting, decision-making, and operational management skills. You will oversee complex global activities and ensure Canonical’s business operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
This position involves managing large-scale company events, global travel logistics, expense policy enforcement, and administration. You will also lead a high-performing team responsible for executive support services across departments.
Location: Fully remote worldwide
Exceptions: Roles based in office regions such as London, Taipei, and Beijing
Key Responsibilities
1. Travel and Logistics Management
- Oversee global travel operations and approvals
- Ensure efficient procurement and logistics planning
- Manage travel complications, visas, and unexpected issues
- Support hundreds of team members traveling from 80+ countries
2. Large-Scale Event Planning
- Lead planning for four major company events per year, each involving significant travel and coordination
- Participate in venue selection, scheduling, and safety reviews
- Work closely with team leaders to ensure smooth execution
3. Expense Policy and Compliance
- Oversee fair and consistent expense review across global teams
- Maintain integrity and transparency in approvals
- Ensure compliance with company policies at all levels
4. Administrative and Executive Support Services
- Provide cross-company scheduling, reporting, and coordination
- Manage supplier communication and handle delegated approvals
- Oversee small operational projects and process improvements
5. Duty of Care and Office Operations
- Support global health, safety, and risk management programs
- Oversee executive briefing centers and operational facilities

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Excellent academic record from high school and university
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field
- Proven track record of high performance and going beyond expectations
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Sound judgment in financial, policy, and interpersonal decisions
- Ability to thrive in a global, multicultural environment
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of responsibility, accountability, and self-awareness
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong drive to meet commitments
- Ability to travel up to four times per year for events up to two weeks long
