Regional Coordinator: Drive Youth and MSME Impact with EAMDA – 7 Vacancies & Program Manager

About the Program

The Financial Inclusion for Youths and MSMEs in Agriculture Program is a five-year national initiative designed to expand economic opportunities for financially disadvantaged young people. The program strengthens farmer organizations, supports youth-led MSMEs, enhances value chain clusters, and improves access to affordable financing.
EAMDA leads the technical and market systems components, focusing on youth-friendly enterprise development, value chain strengthening, cluster coordination, and overall business growth.


About the Role

The Regional Coordinator will lead and coordinate EAMDA’s enterprise development, youth engagement, and market systems activities within a designated region. This role ensures high-quality field implementation, supports the growth of MSMEs and youth-led enterprises, strengthens value chains, and maintains strong relationships with county-level stakeholders.
The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for their region, overseeing county teams, partners, and beneficiaries to deliver quality outputs and ensure timely program execution.


Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Leadership and Coordination

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee regional field activities.
  • Supervise business advisors, field officers, and support staff.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with county governments, private sector actors, and community structures.
  • Ensure activities follow program plans, standards, and performance targets.

2. Enterprise and MSME Support

  • Provide training, coaching, and business development support to youth-led and community enterprises.
  • Conduct enterprise assessments, capacity-building sessions, and growth planning exercises.
  • Promote best practices in financial management, operations, and market readiness.

3. Value Chain and Market Systems Development

  • Coordinate market mapping, research, and engagement with enterprise clusters.
  • Strengthen linkages among enterprises, buyers, financial institutions, and other market actors.
  • Identify opportunities for improved productivity, technology adoption, and market growth.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent EAMDA at the regional level and liaise with county departments, private associations, cooperatives, and community organizations.
  • Convene stakeholder forums, networking sessions, and learning events.
  • Communicate program priorities and maintain a professional presence at county engagements.

5. Monitoring, Reporting and Learning

  • Track field activities and progress against targets.
  • Prepare accurate regional reports, success stories, and learning products.
  • Work with MEAL teams to ensure reliable data collection and accountability.
  • Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

6. Operational and Team Support

  • Manage logistics for training, field travel, and events.
  • Ensure proper documentation, budget monitoring, and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, high-performance team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in enterprise development, youth programs, agribusiness, or market systems.
  • Experience working with county governments, MSMEs, cooperatives, or community groups.
  • Strong team management and multi-county coordination skills.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and community engagement abilities.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work independently in dynamic field environments.

Added Advantage

  • Experience in value chain development, agricultural markets, or financial inclusion.
  • Knowledge of county-level dynamics in the assigned region.
  • Fluency in relevant local languages.
